The Odisha government has disbursed the fifth tranche of the Subhadra welfare scheme to more than one crore women across the state.

The state administration announced that the fifth instalment of the Subhadra scheme has been released, reaching over one crore women beneficiaries throughout Odisha. The payment, part of the government's effort to improve women’s health and nutrition, is being transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible recipients under the scheme.

Officials said the disbursement was carried out in coordination with local banks and community health workers to ensure that the funds reach the intended beneficiaries without delay. The Subhadra scheme, launched earlier this year, provides cash assistance to pregnant women and lactating mothers to support prenatal and postnatal care.

The latest tranche is expected to bolster ongoing efforts to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in the state. Authorities have urged beneficiaries to use the funds for nutrition, medical check‑ups, and other essential health needs.

The government plans to continue monitoring the impact of the scheme and will release further updates as additional instalments are scheduled.
