A vehicle that spun out of control on a Ludhiana street ran over five pedestrians, killing a vegetable seller and dragging the victims for about 50 metres.
Earlier today, a car lost control on a busy lane in Ludhiana and ploughed into a group of pedestrians. Five people were struck, including a vegetable vendor who later succumbed to his injuries.
Emergency services arrived promptly, transporting the four surviving victims to nearby hospitals. The deceased was identified as a local vegetable seller who was selling his produce near the accident site.
Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the vehicle's malfunction or driver error. Preliminary reports suggest the car may have veered off due to a technical fault, but the enquiry remains ongoing.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits, especially in congested market areas, to prevent similar tragedies.
