Onam Feast Onasadhya to be Hosted in Chennai and Bengaluru on Aug 25-26

Kappa Chakka Kandhari has announced that the traditional Kerala harvest festival Onam will be observed with a large Onasadhya feast in two South Indian metros. The events are scheduled for August 25 and 26, 2026, and will take place in Chennai and Bengaluru respectively. Onasadhya, a multi‑course banquet, is a central feature of Onam celebrations, showcasing the region’s vegetarian delicacies and cultural heritage. Organisers expect families, expatriates from Kerala and local food enthusiasts to attend the gatherings, which will include traditional music, dance performances and a display of the iconic floral carpet, pookalam. The initiative aims to promote Kerala’s culinary traditions among a broader audience in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The Chennai venue will be set up at a prominent cultural centre, while the Bengaluru programme will be hosted at a well‑known community hall.
