Hundreds of Swasthya Mitras protested in Bhubaneswar today, demanding permanent jobs after eight years of service in government and private hospitals across Odisha.
Despite heavy monsoon rains, hundreds of Swasthya Mitras gathered in Bhubaneswar to stage a large-scale protest. The community health workers, who have been serving in government and private hospitals across Odisha for the past eight years, are demanding permanent employment.
The demonstration saw participants braving the downpour, with many holding infants and using umbrellas for minimal protection. The protesters turned the capital city's roads into a venue for their demands, highlighting their long-standing service and the need for job security.
Their protest underscores the critical role Swasthya Mitras play in supporting healthcare services in the state and their aspiration for a stable, permanent position after years of dedicated work.
