Delhi continues to experience unusually high temperatures for October, and air quality monitoring shows six zones now classified as 'Poor'.

The capital city of Delhi is witnessing a prolonged heat spell in October, with temperatures remaining well above the seasonal norm. Meteorological officials attribute the persistence to a high-pressure system that has stalled over northern India, limiting the inflow of cooler air.

Air quality measurements taken across the city reveal that six locations have slipped into the 'Poor' category on the AQI scale. The deteriorating air quality is linked to the combination of stagnant weather, increased vehicular emissions, and ongoing construction activities.

Authorities have issued advisories urging residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor exertion during peak heat hours, and use masks when venturing out in areas with poor air quality. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee is monitoring the situation closely and will consider additional mitigation steps if conditions worsen.

The weather department expects a gradual cooling trend towards the end of the month, provided the high-pressure system moves eastward. However, experts warn that any delay could prolong both heat and pollution challenges for the city’s residents.
