Voting for the Darbhanga graduate and teacher constituencies of the Bihar Legislative Council is scheduled for 23 October, with 126,951 graduate voters and 9,026 teacher voters casting ballots across 237 polling stations.
The Bihar Legislative Council will hold elections for two seats in the Darbhanga division on 23 October. The contested constituencies are the graduate seat and the teacher seat, both part of the council's indirect electoral system.
A total of 126,951 registered graduate voters are eligible to vote in the graduate constituency, while 9,026 teachers are listed on the electoral roll for the teacher constituency. These numbers reflect the specific electorate that can participate in these seats, distinct from the general voter base.
To facilitate the poll, election officials have set up 237 polling stations across the Darbhanga district. The venues are spread to ensure accessibility for both graduate and teacher voters, adhering to the Election Commission's guidelines for smooth conduct.
The outcome will determine the representatives who will join the Bihar Legislative Council, influencing legislative deliberations on education, employment and regional development issues pertinent to Darbhanga and the state at large.
