‘Nupi Laan’ Play Celebrates Heroic Legacy of Manipur Women

The Sangai Express has highlighted a new theatrical production titled “Nupi Laan,” which focuses on the heroic legacy of women from the northeastern state of Manipur. The play seeks to bring to the fore the stories of bravery, resilience and cultural contribution that Manipur’s women have demonstrated across history. By staging these narratives on stage, the production aims to educate audiences and inspire a renewed appreciation for the region’s female figures. Organisers hope the performance will travel to various venues within the state, fostering a broader dialogue about gender and heritage. The initiative reflects a growing interest in regional cultural expressions that celebrate local histories.
