An NRI woman, Kamaljeet Kaur, was fatally stabbed on Sunday afternoon in the Vikas Nagar locality of Ludhiana, with the weapon penetrating her back and abdomen. Her son has lodged an accusation against the alleged assailant's father.
Ludhiana police confirmed that Kamaljeet Kaur, a non‑resident Indian (NRI) citizen, was found dead on Sunday afternoon in the Vikas Nagar area of Pakhowal Road. The incident was reported shortly after the victim was discovered with multiple stab wounds.
Preliminary examination indicated that a sharp weapon was used to strike the victim's back and abdomen, causing severe internal damage that cut through major nerves. The nature of the wounds suggests a violent, targeted assault.
According to statements obtained by investigators, the victim's son has accused the father of the alleged attacker of being involved in the killing. Police have registered a murder case and are currently interrogating suspects while conducting forensic analysis of the weapon and the crime scene.
Authorities have appealed for witnesses to come forward and have increased patrols in the neighbourhood to prevent further incidents.
