The Northern Railway has announced special train services for the Diwali and Chhath festivals, linking Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and several neighbouring states.
Northern Railway issued a notice that additional trains will run to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals. The special services will connect major stations in Delhi, Lucknow, Patna and other key junctions with destinations across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and adjoining states.
The railway authority said several extra departures will be scheduled each day, offering both sleeper and AC accommodations to suit different traveler needs. Ticket booking for these festival trains will open on the railway’s official portal and at reservation counters, with a recommendation to secure seats well in advance.
Officials highlighted that the special trains aim to reduce road congestion and provide a safer, more affordable travel option for families observing the festivals. Passengers are advised to adhere to standard safety and hygiene protocols while traveling.
The move reflects the railways’ broader effort to support seasonal mobility and ensure smooth movement of pilgrims and holiday‑goers across the region.
