To ease October’s passenger surge, North Western Railway will temporarily attach 15 extra coaches across seven train pairs, including Ajmer‑Amritsar, Ajmer‑Bandra Terminus and Jodhpur‑Indore.
North Western Railway announced that it will temporarily increase capacity on seven pairs of trains by adding a total of 15 extra coaches. The move is aimed at coping with the expected rise in passenger numbers during October.
The additional coaches will be deployed on key routes such as Ajmer‑Amritsar, Ajmer‑Bandra Terminus and Jodhpur‑Indore, among others. By extending the rake length, the railway hopes to provide more seating and reduce crowding on these heavily‑used services.
The augmentation is a short‑term measure, scheduled to run for the month of October, after which the railway will review passenger trends and adjust services accordingly. Travelers on the affected trains can anticipate a more comfortable journey as the extra coaches come into operation.
Railway officials said the decision reflects a proactive approach to seasonal demand spikes and underscores the importance of maintaining service quality on major inter‑state corridors.
