North Tripura authorities have begun a tree plantation drive as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 initiative, aiming to enhance green cover and promote cleanliness.
The district administration of North Tripura has initiated a tree plantation drive under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 programme. The drive seeks to increase the green cover of the region while reinforcing the cleanliness objectives of the national campaign. Local volunteers, school children and community groups have been mobilised to plant saplings across public spaces and roadside areas.
Officials say the initiative will not only beautify the district but also contribute to environmental sustainability by improving air quality and providing shade. The drive is part of a broader effort to align North Tripura’s development with the national cleanliness and environmental goals set for 2026.
The event is being closely monitored by district officials, who plan to track the growth of the planted trees and assess the impact on local ecosystems. The Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 programme aims to create a cleaner, greener India, and this tree plantation drive is a tangible step towards that vision.
