The Noida commissionerate has extended Section 163, prohibiting public gatherings across Gautam Buddh Nagar until September 4, citing upcoming Eid, Janmashtami celebrations and the NEET PG exam.
The Gautam Buddh Nagar commissionerate in Noida has announced that Section 163 will remain in force across the entire district until September 4. The order, issued by the local administration, bars all public gatherings in the area as part of preventive measures.
Officials said the restriction is being maintained to ensure smooth observance of the upcoming religious festivals of Eid and Janmashtami, as well as to provide a calm environment for candidates appearing for the NEET PG entrance examination.
The ban applies to all types of assemblies, including religious processions, cultural events and large informal gatherings. Violations could attract penalties under the existing law.
Authorities have urged residents to cooperate and follow the guidelines, emphasizing that the measure is temporary and aimed at public safety during a period of heightened activity.
