From October 16, petrol pumps in four NCR districts of Haryana will stop supplying fuel to end-of-life vehicles to curb pollution.

Authorities in Haryana have decided that petrol pumps in four districts falling under the National Capital Region will no longer dispense fuel to end-of-life vehicles starting October 16. The move is aimed at phasing out old, polluting vehicles from the roads.

The restriction will apply to vehicles that have completed their registered lifespan and are deemed unfit for use. Fuel station operators are expected to verify vehicle age before supplying petrol or diesel.

This step is part of broader efforts to improve air quality in the NCR belt, where vehicular emissions remain a major concern. The initiative aligns with similar measures implemented in Delhi to tackle pollution.
