NIA Court Denies Mumbai Police Custody of Anmol Bishnoi in Baba Siddiqui Murder Case

A Delhi High Court order from the Ministry of Home Affairs prevented the National Investigation Agency from placing Anmol Bishnoi, accused in the murder of Baba Siddiqui, in police custody.

The NIA Court in Delhi refused to hand over Anmol Bishnoi to Mumbai Police for custody in the murder case of Baba Siddiqui, citing an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Bishnoi, a 28‑year‑old from Rajasthan, was arrested earlier this year on charges of murder after the death of the prominent cleric in Mumbai. The case has attracted national attention.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order directing the NIA not to transfer custody, citing concerns over the investigation and potential interference. The court complied with the directive.

The decision means Bishnoi will remain under NIA supervision until further orders, and the investigation will continue under the agency’s purview.
