The National Investigation Agency has captured a wanted suspect linked to an AK‑47 arms trafficking network spanning Nagaland and Bihar.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced that it has apprehended a suspect who had been on the run in connection with an illegal arms trafficking operation involving AK‑47 rifles across Nagaland and Bihar.
Intelligence inputs earlier this year indicated that the syndicate used routes linking the Northeastern state of Nagaland with Bihar in the East to move firearms. Based on this information, NIA officers located and arrested the accused recently.
Authorities said the seized weapons and related evidence suggest a larger network aimed at supplying firearms to criminal elements. The identity of the arrested individual has not been disclosed as the investigation continues.
The agency reiterated its resolve to curb illegal arms smuggling and warned that further arrests are likely as the probe progresses.
