The National Investigation Agency detained six individuals in Assam and conducted searches at 16 locations as part of its investigation into the Imam Mahmuder Kafila terror cell.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) announced the arrest of six suspects in the state of Assam on Tuesday. The arrests were part of a broader probe into the Imam Mahmuder Kafila terror cell, a group believed to be linked to extremist activities.
In addition to detaining the suspects, NIA officials carried out searches at 16 sites across Assam. The sites included residential premises, storage facilities and other locations suspected of housing terror-related materials.
The operation was coordinated with local police and intelligence agencies to ensure a comprehensive sweep of the areas linked to the cell. No weapons or explosives were reported to have been recovered during the searches.
