New Zealand’s cricket board will examine fielding shortcomings highlighted during the recent T20 series against India, according to coach Milne.
New Zealand’s cricket management announced a comprehensive review of the team’s fielding performance following the three‑match T20 series against India. Coach Milne said the side’s lapses in the field, particularly dropped catches and misfields, cost them crucial moments in the series.
The review will involve video analysis, drills and possible changes to the fielding set‑up ahead of upcoming international fixtures. Milne emphasized that improving fielding standards is a priority to remain competitive on the world stage.
New Zealand lost the series 2-1, with India’s aggressive batting exposing gaps in the Black Caps’ fielding unit. The upcoming assessment aims to address these issues before the next bilateral series and the upcoming ICC events.
Cricket officials expect the findings to be shared with the players in the next training camp, signalling a focused approach to tighten the fielding department.
