Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia announced the inauguration of a new district court in Kullu, aimed at reducing the mounting backlog of cases in Himachal Pradesh.

The Himachal Pradesh High Court, led by Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia, inaugurated a new district court in Kullu to cope with a rising backlog of cases. The court is expected to relieve pressure on existing benches that have been struggling with delayed hearings.

Chief Justice Sandhawalia said the growing docket of civil and criminal matters has strained the judicial system, and the additional courtroom will provide more judges and staff to expedite proceedings. The new facility is equipped with modern infrastructure to improve case management.

State officials anticipate that the Kullu court will speed up disposal of pending cases and enhance access to justice for residents of the district and neighboring areas.
