Security forces have introduced a fresh operational plan in the Pir Panjal region to prevent terrorists from moving freely between Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

New security protocols have been rolled out in the Pir Panjal mountain belt, a key transit corridor linking Jammu and the Kashmir valley. The plan focuses on enhanced surveillance, rapid‑reaction teams and tighter checkpoint controls to deny militants the ability to slip across the region undetected.

According to senior officials, the strategy integrates intelligence inputs with real‑time monitoring of known infiltration routes. Mobile patrol units equipped with night‑vision gear will operate in tandem with static outposts, creating overlapping coverage that reduces blind spots.

The move comes after a series of intelligence warnings about increased terrorist movement across the Pir Panjal passes. While details of the deployment remain classified, authorities assure the public that the measures are designed to safeguard civilian life without disrupting normal traffic.

Security agencies have also initiated joint drills with local police to ensure seamless coordination. The new framework is expected to be operational within weeks, marking a significant step in the broader effort to stabilize the Jammu‑Kashmir region.
