The National Democratic Alliance partners in Andhra Pradesh have finalized their seat-sharing arrangement ahead of the upcoming urban local body polls.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Andhra Pradesh have reached an agreement on how to divide contesting seats for the upcoming urban local body elections. The deal, announced by senior party officials, outlines the allocation of wards and municipal corporation seats among the coalition members, aiming to present a united front against opposition parties.

Key parties in the alliance, including the Telugu Desam Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party and smaller regional outfits, negotiated the distribution based on their previous performance and organisational strength in various urban centres. The finalized list assigns the TDP a larger share of seats in major cities such as Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, while the BJP and other allies receive slots in smaller municipalities.

The seat-sharing pact is expected to be formalised before the filing of nominations, which is scheduled for later this month. Observers say the arrangement could strengthen the NDA's prospects in the urban local body polls, where voter turnout and local issues are likely to play a decisive role.
