The Narcotics Control Bureau carried out a raid in Balotra, Rajasthan, seizing illegal drugs and arresting several suspects.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) launched a surprise operation in the town of Balotra, located in Rajasthan's Barmer district, on Tuesday. The raid was part of a broader anti‑drug initiative aimed at curbing the trafficking of narcotics in the western part of the state.
During the operation, NCB officials seized a significant quantity of illegal substances, including heroin and synthetic drugs, and detained several individuals suspected of involvement in the drug network. The exact amount of the seized contraband has not been disclosed, but authorities described it as a "substantial" haul.
Senior NCB officer Anil Kumar Singh, who led the team, said the operation was the result of weeks of intelligence gathering and coordination with local police. He emphasized that the agency will continue to target drug syndicates that exploit remote towns like Balotra as transit points.
The arrests are expected to lead to further investigations into the supply chain, with the NCB promising swift legal action against those found guilty. Local residents expressed relief, noting that the crackdown could help restore safety and order in the community.
