Indian Railways will start an experimental halt for the Narmada Express at Venkatanagar station on September 2, pending passenger response.
Indian Railways announced that, beginning September 2, the Narmada Express will include an experimental halt at Venkatanagar station in Madhya Pradesh. The move is being introduced on a trial basis to gauge passenger demand and operational feasibility.
Venkatanagar, located on the Bhopal–Jabalpur line, will see the train stop for a brief period, allowing local commuters to board and alight. Railway officials said the stop could improve connectivity for residents of the surrounding region, though the duration of the halt will be reviewed after the trial period.
The announcement also mentioned separate coach‑composition changes for the Bhopal‑Khatipura and Jaipur‑Bhopal Expresses slated for November, but those adjustments are unrelated to the Venkatanagar stop.
