Around 1.9 million electors in Assam’s Nagaon constituency are set to vote in a three‑candidate Lok Sabha by‑poll.
The Election Commission has scheduled a Lok Sabha by‑poll for the Nagaon constituency in Assam after the seat fell vacant. Approximately 19 lakh registered voters are expected to turn up at polling stations across the district.
Three major political formations have fielded candidates, turning the contest into a three‑way race that analysts say could split the anti‑incumbency vote. Each contender is campaigning intensively, focusing on local development issues and communal harmony.
Polling arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth voting process, with security personnel deployed at key locations. Voter awareness drives continue ahead of the election day, urging the electorate to exercise their franchise responsibly.
