Nagaland's Director General of Police (DGP) announced that the death toll from spurious liquor consumption has risen to 20, prompting heightened concern across the state. He emphasized that despite ongoing investigations, pinpointing the exact origin of the illicit brew remains a major challenge for law‑enforcement agencies.
Officials disclosed that the seized batches were of low quality and contained harmful chemicals, but the supply chain is obscured by multiple intermediaries.
