Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on government bodies, private partners and athletes to work together in strengthening Nagaland’s sports infrastructure and talent development.

During a recent press briefing, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio appealed to all sections of society to intensify efforts toward building a robust sporting ecosystem in the state. He emphasized that coordinated action from government agencies, private enterprises, sports federations and athletes is essential for long‑term growth.

The chief minister highlighted the need for upgraded facilities, qualified coaches and systematic grassroots programmes to nurture talent from remote districts. He pointed out that existing schemes must be expanded and new initiatives introduced to bridge gaps in infrastructure and training.

Rio assured that the state government will continue to formulate supportive policies, allocate funds and facilitate partnerships that can accelerate the development of sports across Nagaland. He urged stakeholders to translate this collective commitment into concrete projects that empower young athletes and raise the state’s profile in national competitions.
