Nagaland's Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio officially opened the Tech X Gaming Expo 2026 on Thursday, marking the state's first large‑scale gaming and technology showcase. The ceremony was attended by industry representatives, local entrepreneurs and officials from the state’s IT department.
During his speech, Rio emphasized the government's ambition to transform Nagaland into a digital talent hub. He highlighted the expo as a platform for young developers, gamers and startups to network, demonstrate innovations and attract investment.
Organisers said the three‑day event will feature game development workshops, esports tournaments and panels on emerging technologies such as AI and virtual reality. State officials expect the expo to spur skill development and create new employment opportunities in the tech sector.
