The Naga Students' Federation has officially denied claims that it held a gathering with fellow Nagas in Myanmar, according to a report by Eastern Mirror.

The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) issued a statement on Thursday rejecting media reports that it had convened a meeting with Naga groups in Myanmar. The organization said no delegation was sent abroad and no such gathering took place. NSF emphasized that its activities remain confined to its mandate of representing student interests within Nagaland and that any suggestion of cross‑border engagement is unfounded. The denial comes amid heightened sensitivity around Naga issues and speculation about possible political overtures. Eastern Mirror, which first published the claim, has not provided further evidence, and NSF urged media outlets to verify information before reporting.

In its response, NSF highlighted its commitment to peaceful advocacy through established channels in India and reiterated that it does not engage in unofficial talks with groups outside the country. The federation also called for responsible journalism, noting that unverified reports can fuel misunderstandings among the Naga community.

The clarification arrives as regional observers monitor developments related to Naga identity and cross‑border interactions, but NSF maintains that its focus remains on educational and student welfare matters within Nagaland.
