Naga Sadhu Dharmpuri Maharaj has completed a 3,500‑km hand‑circumambulation of the Narmada River, a journey that began in November 2025 from Amarkantak and is expected to finish in 7–8 years.

Naga Sadhu Dharmpuri Maharaj, a revered ascetic from Madhya Pradesh, has reached the town of Narmadapuram after completing a 3,500‑kilometre circumambulation of the Narmada River. The pilgrimage, which began in November 2025 at Amarkantak, has been undertaken entirely by hand.

The saint has covered an average of 2.5 kilometres each day, steadily advancing along the river’s banks. At the current pace, the journey is projected to conclude in approximately seven to eight years.

The circumambulation is part of a long‑term spiritual endeavour, symbolising devotion and endurance. Local devotees and pilgrims have followed the saint’s progress, offering support and prayers along the route.

Maharaj’s completion of the first leg of the pilgrimage has drawn attention from religious communities across the state, highlighting the significance of the Narmada as a sacred river in Hindu tradition.
