Nadia district has emerged as the top performer among West Bengal’s districts in the state’s tuberculosis eradication program, according to recent campaign data.

The West Bengal health department’s ongoing tuberculosis (TB) eradication campaign has released its latest performance rankings, highlighting district‑wise progress across the state. The initiative, aimed at reducing TB incidence through active case finding, treatment adherence, and community awareness, has been a priority for the state’s public health agenda.

In the most recent assessment, Nadia district topped the list, registering the highest success rate among all districts in the state. The district’s health teams reported robust case detection, timely initiation of therapy, and strong follow‑up mechanisms, which together contributed to its leading position.

State health officials noted that Nadia’s achievement reflects effective coordination between district medical officers, local NGOs, and community health workers. They emphasized that the model being practiced in Nadia could be replicated in other districts to accelerate the state’s goal of eliminating TB.

The department plans to continue monitoring progress closely, providing additional resources where needed, and scaling up successful strategies identified in high‑performing districts like Nadia.
