The long‑delayed Nabha‑Bhabat road project in Mohali has finally broken ground after an 18‑month stall, promising smoother travel for more than 20,000 local commuters.

Construction work on the Nabha‑Bhabat road, a key link in the Mohali region of Punjab, resumed this week after being halted for roughly a year and a half. The project, which connects the towns of Nabha and Bhabat, had been awaiting clearance and funding before work could recommence.

Officials say the revived stretch will ease traffic congestion on existing routes and provide a more direct corridor for daily commuters, traders and public transport. Over 20,000 residents who regularly travel between the two localities are expected to benefit from reduced travel time and improved road safety.

The commencement marks a significant step in the state’s effort to upgrade regional infrastructure and boost economic activity in the area. Local authorities have pledged to maintain momentum and complete the remaining phases as per the original schedule.
