NABARD has inaugurated livelihood projects in Unakoti district of Tripura aimed at strengthening women‑led entrepreneurship and encouraging sustainable farming practices.
Tripura's Unakoti district witnessed the launch of a new set of livelihood initiatives backed by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The schemes are designed to create income‑generating opportunities for women, encouraging them to start small enterprises linked to agriculture and allied sectors.
Officials highlighted that the projects will integrate sustainable farming techniques, aiming to improve soil health and reduce dependence on chemical inputs. Training, credit support and market linkage assistance are expected to be provided to participating women entrepreneurs.
The rollout aligns with broader government efforts to promote inclusive rural development and gender‑focused economic empowerment across the state. Stakeholders anticipate that the initiative will not only raise household incomes but also contribute to environmentally responsible agricultural practices in the region.
