Umashankar Kumar, a native of Kuthni village in Muzaffarpur district, touched down at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Sunday after a four‑month ordeal in Senegal. He boarded a train shortly after his arrival and reached his home in Kothiya village by late evening, where his wife and children were waiting.
The West African country had held the 38‑year‑old resident for several months, leaving his family back in Bihar uncertain about his whereabouts. While the exact circumstances of his detention were not disclosed, his prolonged stay abroad was described as involuntary and distressing.
