Muzaffarpur city police arrested two individuals for manufacturing counterfeit Aadhaar cards and facilitating a passport for a Bangladeshi national, also confiscating a UIDAI machine and biometric scanner from a cyber cafe.

Muzaffarpur city police, acting on a tip, detained two suspects on charges of producing forged Aadhaar identification cards. The arrests were made at a cyber cafe in the city where the alleged operation was being run. The police also recovered a UIDAI‑issued machine and a finger‑eye biometric scanner used in the counterfeit process.
The investigation revealed that the fake Aadhaar cards were intended to support the issuance of a passport for a Bangladeshi citizen, bypassing standard verification procedures. Authorities said the documents supplied to the passport office were entirely fabricated, raising concerns about cross‑border identity fraud.
Officials from the Muzaffarpur Nagar Thana emphasized that the seized equipment could have been used to replicate biometric data, a serious breach of the UIDAI’s security protocols. The case is being forwarded to higher investigative agencies for further action.
The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activity at cyber cafés and reaffirmed their commitment to curbing identity‑theft networks in the region.
