Hospital officials in Muzaffarpur disclosed that an unlicensed private clinic was functioning behind a hotel near gate‑1 of SKMCH, admitting fifteen patients.

The administration of Sher Shah Medical College Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur announced that a private medical facility, operating without any licence, was set up behind a hotel adjacent to gate‑1 of the campus. The makeshift clinic was presented to the public as a hotel, masking its true purpose as a health centre.

According to the hospital officials, fifteen patients were admitted to the illegal setup over a short period. The patients received basic medical care, but the facility lacked the infrastructure, equipment and regulatory approvals required for a legitimate hospital.

Local health authorities have been alerted and an investigation has been launched to identify the operators and to shut down the unregistered clinic. Officials warned that such "Gorakh‑dhanda" not only violates medical regulations but also endangers public health, and they said legal action would be pursued against those responsible.

The incident adds to growing concerns about unlicensed medical practices in parts of Bihar, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and enforcement of health‑care standards across the state.
