In Ajmer's Andarkoat area near the Dargah, Muslim residents demonstrated against the Congress party’s nomination of an external candidate, burning an effigy of former RTDC chairman Dharmendra Singh Rathore.

A crowd of Muslim residents gathered in the Andarkoat locality of Ajmer, close to the historic Dargah, to voice strong opposition to a recent ticket allocation by the Congress party. The protest centered on the party's decision to nominate an outsider for the upcoming electoral contest, a move that the demonstrators said ignored local aspirations.

Participants marched through the streets, chanting slogans and holding placards that highlighted their demand for a local candidate. The protest escalated when the crowd set alight an effigy of Dharmendra Singh Rathore, a former chairman of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, symbolising their displeasure with the party's leadership choices.

The demonstration remained largely peaceful apart from the effigy burning, and local authorities were reported to be monitoring the situation to ensure order. The incident underscores growing tensions within party ranks over candidate selection ahead of the elections.
