Bihar’s Munger district will host a large‑scale Diwali celebration on Nov 7, lighting more than 1.1 million diyas, with CM Samrat Chaudhary inaugurating the event and a fireworks team from Delhi.

The district administration of Munger, Bihar, has announced a massive Diwali celebration slated for 7 November at Kalyanpur. Organisers plan to light upwards of 1.1 million oil‑lamps across the venue, creating one of the largest displays of the festival in the state.

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will formally inaugurate the event by lighting the first diya, a gesture meant to usher in the festive spirit for the gathered crowd. The ceremony underscores the government's emphasis on cultural heritage and community participation during the festival of lights.

A professional fireworks team from Delhi has been contracted to stage a concluding pyrotechnic show, adding a spectacular finish to the evening. Local officials expect a sizable turnout of residents and visitors, who will also enjoy cultural performances and traditional food stalls arranged by the district.

Preparations have been underway for weeks, with municipal workers installing the diyas, ensuring safety measures, and coordinating traffic management to accommodate the influx of attendees.
