During a rescue attempt, the victim encountered real police officers but mistakenly identified them as part of the fraud ring, which delayed his cooperation.
Three members of the local society, along with a team of police officers who had also brought another cyber‑fraud victim, stepped in to explain the situation. Their intervention helped the victim realize the truth and accept the police’s assistance.
After the clarification, the victim finally relented, acknowledging the scam and agreeing to cooperate with the investigation.
Police are continuing to investigate the fraud and are working to recover the lost funds.
