Following a murder on a Mumbai local train, the government has announced plans to enhance patrolling and expand CCTV surveillance across the network.

Authorities in Mumbai are set to bolster security measures on the city's vital local train network following a recent murder incident. The government has committed to increasing police patrolling on trains and at stations to deter further criminal activity and ensure passenger safety.

In addition to enhanced physical presence, plans are underway to significantly expand the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) coverage throughout the local train system. This move aims to improve surveillance capabilities, aid in the swift identification of suspects, and provide greater accountability.

The decision comes as a direct response to the recent fatality, highlighting concerns about safety and security within one of the world's busiest commuter rail systems.
