Mumbai recorded its first post‑monsoon heatwave, with temperatures rising to 37.8°C, according to Mid‑Day.
Mumbai saw an unusual rise in temperature on Thursday, reaching 37.8°C, marking the first heatwave of the post‑monsoon period. The reading was reported by the city’s meteorological stations and highlighted by the Mid‑Day newspaper.
The spike comes after a relatively cooler monsoon season, and officials have warned residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
City authorities are monitoring the situation closely and have urged schools and workplaces to consider heat‑related precautions. The weather department will continue to issue updates as the temperature trends evolve.
Experts note that such early heatwaves can strain power supplies and increase demand for water, prompting a need for proactive measures across the city.
