Mumbai’s cyber crime squad arrested two individuals from Bihar and Jharkhand over a ₹48.60‑lakh CEO fraud scam and confiscated 161 SIM cards linked to the operation.

Mumbai Cyber Police arrested two suspects, one from Bihar and the other from Jharkhand, on Thursday in connection with a CEO fraud scam that involved a sum of ₹48.60 lakh.
The arrests were made at the Mumbai Police Headquarters after a sting operation that traced the fraud to a series of fraudulent emails and phone calls.
During the operation, the police seized 161 SIM cards believed to have been used to facilitate the scam and to communicate with the victims.
The cyber crime cell said the investigation is ongoing and that further arrests may be made as the probe continues.
The case highlights the growing threat of online fraud targeting corporate executives and the importance of vigilant cyber policing in India.
