Mumbai crushes Hyderabad by 61 runs in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Mumbai’s under‑19 side secured a comfortable win over Hyderabad in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, posting a score that left the visitors 61 runs short. The result was recorded in the group‑stage fixture that forms part of the national junior competition. Hyderabad struggled to chase the target, falling well short despite a brief resistance. The victory reinforces Mumbai’s reputation as a strong feeder for senior state and national teams. Coaches from both sides praised the competitive spirit displayed, noting the tournament’s role in nurturing future talent.

Mumbai’s bowlers applied consistent pressure throughout Hyderabad’s innings, limiting run‑scoring opportunities and forcing wickets at regular intervals. Hyderabad’s batting line‑up could not recover from early setbacks, and the required run‑rate climbed beyond reach as the overs progressed. The margin of 61 runs reflects a dominant performance by Mumbai in both batting and fielding departments.

The Vinoo Mankad Trophy, named after the legendary Indian all‑rounder, continues to showcase emerging cricketers from across the country. Mumbai’s win positions them favorably for the next phase of the competition, while Hyderabad will look to regroup and improve in upcoming matches.
