MP to Supply 10 Hours of Power Daily for Rabi Farmers

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that farmers will receive 10 hours of electricity per day during the upcoming Rabi season.
The government of Madhya Pradesh has unveiled a new initiative aimed at boosting agricultural productivity during the Rabi season. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, speaking in Bhopal, confirmed that farmers across the state will be allotted a dedicated supply of electricity for ten hours each day.
The plan, which is slated to begin with the start of the Rabi crop cycle, will provide a reliable power window for irrigation pumps, seed drills and other farm equipment. Officials say the move is designed to reduce power shortages that have historically hampered planting and harvesting activities.
Implementation will be phased, with priority given to districts that have the highest density of small‑holder farms. The state electricity board will coordinate the distribution of power and monitor usage to ensure compliance.
In the same address, the Chief Minister also mentioned that the Ladli Bhanja scheme, a women‑focused financial initiative, will see its allocated funds credited to beneficiaries’ accounts in the coming weeks.
The announcement comes as part of the state’s broader effort to support farmers and improve rural livelihoods ahead of the next planting season.
