During the BJP’s ‘Drug‑Free Punjab’ tour, MP Manoj Tiwari warned that successive governments have failed to curb drug abuse and pledged to eradicate it within three years if his party returns to power.
Manoj Tiwari, a Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party, addressed crowds in several villages and towns across Punjab as part of the party’s “Drug‑Free Punjab” outreach. He highlighted the growing reach of drug networks that he says are entangling both rural and urban communities.
The MP criticised past state administrations, alleging that despite remaining in power for years they have been unable to impose an effective check on the narcotics trade. According to Tiwari, the failure to curb the menace has left families and youth vulnerable.
Tiwari promised that if the BJP forms the next state government, a focused three‑year plan will be launched to dismantle drug supply chains and provide rehabilitation for addicts. He said the party’s commitment would translate into concrete actions aimed at making Punjab drug‑free.
