The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that market yards will remain operational during public holidays, allowing soybean and maize farmers to sell their produce immediately and reducing payment delays.

The state government has decided to keep mandis open on all holidays, a move aimed at easing the selling process for soybean and maize growers.

Farmers in the state have been grappling with long waits for market access and delayed payments, especially during peak harvest periods.

Under the new directive, market authorities will ensure that trading continues uninterrupted, allowing farmers to bring their produce to the yard and receive immediate payment.

The decision is expected to improve cash flow for farmers and help stabilize prices in the local commodity markets.

Officials said the policy will be implemented across all major mandis in the state from the next holiday season.
