A sudden cold spell has swept across Madhya Pradesh, with minimum temperatures falling below 14°C in 14 cities, including Bhopal and Indore, as a western disturbance brings northerly winds.
A sharp drop in night temperatures began early November, striking the heartland of Madhya Pradesh. Meteorological data shows that 14 cities, from Bhopal to Indore, recorded minimums below 14 °C, with Indore’s lowest reading at 13.5 °C.
The cold wave is attributed to a western disturbance that arrived on 10 November, bringing northerly winds that are expected to deepen the chill further across the state.
Despite the biting cold, weather forecasts predict clear skies on Diwali, offering a brief respite for residents.
Officials urge people to dress warmly, keep indoor heating on, and stay hydrated to avoid health risks associated with sudden temperature drops.
