MP Cabinet Approves ₹3,000 Cr for School Development, ₹241 Cr for Student Transport

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has sanctioned ₹3,000 crore for upgrading schools and ₹241 crore for student transport along the Jabalpur–Indore industrial corridor.
On Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet approved a ₹3,000 crore package aimed at modernising and expanding school infrastructure across the state. The allocation covers new buildings, classrooms, laboratories and digital learning tools. In addition, a separate ₹241 crore fund will be used to improve transportation facilities for students, especially along the Jabalpur–Indore industrial corridor. The decision follows a broader push to boost education and related services in the region.
The transport fund will cover the purchase of buses, maintenance of existing vehicles and the introduction of safety measures such as seat belts and GPS tracking. It is expected to reduce travel time for students in remote areas and improve attendance rates. The education package will also support teacher training and the procurement of textbooks and e‑learning resources.
Political leaders said the move will address long‑standing infrastructure gaps and help the state meet national education targets. The cabinet also approved related proposals for irrigation and health services, underscoring a holistic development agenda.
Implementation will begin in the upcoming fiscal year, with state officials outlining detailed project plans and timelines. Stakeholders will monitor progress through quarterly reviews.
