Monsoon Withdraws from Telangana, Marking Onset of Dry Spell

The southwest monsoon, which had been drenching large parts of the Deccan plateau, has now retreated from Telangana, meteorological officials said. The shift was observed across the state in the past few days, with rain clouds giving way to clear skies.

With the rains receding, daytime temperatures are expected to climb, and humidity levels will drop noticeably. Farmers in rain‑dependent districts are closely monitoring soil moisture as the dry spell could affect sowing schedules for upcoming crops.

The India Meteorological Department has warned that the current dry spell may persist for several weeks, urging residents to conserve water and stay prepared for possible heatwaves. Authorities are also keeping an eye on water reservoirs, which have begun to show declining levels after the monsoon withdrawal.
