Monsoon retreats in Rajasthan as rain shifts to Kota, Udaipur and heat rises in the west

The monsoon withdrawal line has moved to Jaisalmer, Nagaur and Sikar, while rain is forecast for Kota and Udaipur and temperatures are set to rise in the state's western districts.
The monsoon season in Rajasthan is drawing to a close faster than expected. Meteorological observations show that the retreat line has now reached the districts of Jaisalmer, Nagaur and Sikar, marking the furthest westward advance of the withdrawal front.
Weather forecasts for the next four days indicate that the central‑southern districts of Kota and Udaipur are likely to receive scattered showers. These rains are expected to provide brief relief after several weeks of dry conditions.
At the same time, the western part of the state, including the newly reached districts, is projected to experience a rise in daytime temperatures. The combination of reduced cloud cover and lingering humidity could push temperatures higher than usual for this period of the year.
