RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat told Acharya Pulkasagar Maharaj that the proposed UGC rules are only drafts and will not become law without proper legislative process.

In a meeting with Acharya Pulkasagar Maharaj, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed the proposed rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC). He emphasized that the documents presented so far are merely drafts and do not have the force of law.

Bhagwat clarified that for any rule to become enforceable, it must undergo a formal legislative process, including scrutiny by the Parliament and the relevant ministries. He warned that the current proposals should not be treated as binding regulations.

The discussion also touched on broader social issues such as caste disparity and the need for social harmony in India. Bhagwat highlighted the importance of addressing these challenges within the framework of national unity and equitable development.

While the UGC draft has attracted attention from various stakeholders, Bhagwat’s remarks suggest that stakeholders should wait for official confirmation before considering the rules as enforceable law.
