A Mohali court sentenced Gurvinder, accused of selling intoxicating capsules, to 34 days in jail and a fine of ₹3,000.

A court in Mohali has handed down a custodial sentence to Gurvinder, who was charged with selling intoxicating capsules. The judgment includes a term of 34 days behind bars.

The conviction stems from allegations that Gurvinder supplied capsules containing psychoactive substances, violating state drug regulations. Authorities had seized the illegal stock during a raid and filed charges under the relevant narcotics law.

In addition to imprisonment, the court imposed a monetary penalty of ₹3,000. The fine reflects the seriousness of the offence and serves as a deterrent against the illicit drug trade in the region.

Legal experts note that such penalties are consistent with recent efforts by Punjab law‑enforcement agencies to curb the distribution of unlicensed psychoactive products.
